Don Quixote vs. Aeratron: An epic battle against the invisible windmills
"Sancho!" cried Don Quixote, his face beaming with determination. "A new enemy has risen! An insidious machine that steals the skies and disguises itself as a friendly helper. Prepare the steed, my loyal squire, we go into battle!"
Sancho rubbed his eyes sleepily. "Sir, it's just the Aeratron ceiling fan. It provides fresh air without making any noise. Maybe we should leave it at that?" But Don Quixote had no ears for such sobriety.
The enemy: Aeratron
For Don Quixote, the Aeratron ceiling fan was more than just a stylish piece of engineering. No, in his eyes it was a diabolical creature that made itself invisible as it secretly took over the skies. How could a thing that was so quiet and efficient be up to no good?
"Look, Sancho," the knight continued, "it swings its ominous blades in perfect circles. But I will tame it, this monster! No stream of air will escape my lance!"
The battle: lance against air
With his lance raised and a battle cry that made the walls tremble, Don Quixote charged. His aim was impressive... considering that he was striking in the completely wrong direction. The Aeratron fan remained unimpressed. No wobbling, no noise - it simply continued its majestic rotation as if it hadn't even noticed the attack.
"Sir!" cried Sancho as he tried to assess the damage. "That thing doesn't even have a scratch on it! It's too strong!"
Don Quixote stood there breathing heavily, his lance broken but his resolve unbroken. "Sancho, the enemy is powerful, but we are clever. Bring me the toolbox!"
Peace: a fan for a friend
After another round of heated discussions (in which Sancho finally convinced himself that the fan was perhaps more friend than foe), Don Quixote came to a remarkable conclusion.
"Sancho," he said, "this device is not our enemy. It is a powerful ally that saves us from the curse of the summer heat. May it wave in our ranks like a loyal standard bearer!"
And so the aerodynamic marvel became a loyal companion in Don Quixote's castle. The knight, who once fought windmills, now let himself be cooled by a fan - and wrote about his "victory" in the annals of his great adventure.
